Vivarium

Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 29, 2026

Summary: Vivarium does not collect any data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking. Your biomes, settings, and progress live entirely on your device. The App contains no analytics or advertising SDKs of any kind. The only third party that processes anything is RevenueCat, which handles optional in-app purchases through Apple's StoreKit.

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Banshee Technologies S.L. ("we", "us", or "our"), a company registered in Spain, handles information in connection with the Vivarium mobile application ("the App"), available on the Apple App Store for iOS.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. The App has been designed with a privacy-first approach: the simulation runs entirely on your device, and we do not operate backend servers that receive your gameplay data. The App is fully playable with no network connection at all.

2. Nature of the Application

Vivarium is a single-player ecosystem simulator designed solely for entertainment purposes. You plant a world from a seed and watch it live: terrain, weather and seasons, plants, and creatures that feed, breed, hunt, and die.

3. Information We Collect

We do not collect any personal information. Specifically:

Accordingly, the App's App Store privacy disclosure is "Data Not Collected".

4. Data Stored on Your Device

The App stores game-related data locally on your device using standard device storage. This data never leaves your device and includes:

This data is stored in standard application storage and will be removed if you uninstall the App. We have no access to, and no ability to retrieve, any data stored on your device.

5. Player-Written Content

Vivarium includes a small amount of text written by players: a board a player builds and writes on (three lines of sixteen characters), and a name given to a place (one line of sixteen characters). This text can travel. A biome is shared with a nine-character code, which can also be read as a QR code, and that code carries the board and the place name with it — so what one player wrote can appear on another player's screen. There is no server, no feed, no accounts, and no profiles: codes pass directly from person to person, and can do so with no network connection at all.

Player-written text is filtered automatically on your device at three points: when it is written, when a share code is generated, and again when a received code is opened — so text that arrives from someone else is filtered on your own phone before it is drawn. The filter restricts which characters can be used (as a result, email addresses and tappable links cannot be written at all), rejects long runs of digits and web-address patterns, and blocks offensive language across the languages the App is translated into. A line that fails any of these checks is left blank rather than displayed. No word list is perfect, and we do not claim the filter catches everything.

All of this happens on your device. Player-written text is never transmitted to us, never stored on our servers, and never reviewed by us — we have no means of seeing it. If you encounter offensive content in a biome shared with you, please report it to us at info@banshee.pro and we will respond.

6. Third-Party Services

The App integrates one third-party service that processes data:

RevenueCat (In-App Purchase Management)

We use RevenueCat (via the react-native-purchases SDK) to manage optional in-app purchases. RevenueCat processes transactions through Apple's StoreKit framework. When you make a purchase, RevenueCat may receive:

RevenueCat does not receive your name, email address, or any other personally identifiable information from us. No data is shared with RevenueCat beyond what Apple provides through the standard StoreKit purchase flow.

RevenueCat's privacy policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy

Payment processing itself is performed by Apple, subject to Apple's Privacy Policy. We never receive, process, or store your payment details.

7. In-App Purchases

Vivarium offers five optional in-app purchases. None of them is a subscription, and none of them expires:

Please understand:

8. Device Permissions

The App requests two permissions, both optional and both used strictly as gameplay input:

Both permissions can be declined or revoked at any time in iOS Settings; the App remains fully playable without them.

The App does not request or use permissions for: photo library, microphone, location, contacts, calendar, health data, Bluetooth, or tracking.

9. Advertising & Tracking

The App contains no advertising of any kind — no banner, interstitial, video, or rewarded ads — and no advertising or attribution SDKs are integrated. The App does not track you across apps or websites, does not access the IDFA, and does not participate in any data sharing with advertisers or data brokers.

10. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, rent, license, or otherwise share any user data with third parties, because we do not collect any user data. The only data exchange that occurs is between the App and Apple's StoreKit / RevenueCat during optional in-app purchases, as described in Section 6.

11. Data Retention

Since we do not collect personal data, there is no personal data retained on our servers. All game data is stored exclusively on your device and persists until you delete the App or clear the App's data. You are in full control of your data at all times.

12. Your Rights Under GDPR

As a company based in the European Union (Spain), we comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Although we do not collect personal data, you retain all rights granted under the GDPR, including the right to:

Since no personal data is collected or processed by us, these rights are inherently satisfied. If you have any questions or wish to exercise these rights, please contact us at the address below.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Spain, this is the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (AEPD)www.aepd.es.

13. Children's Privacy

The App does not collect any personal information from users of any age, and contains no advertising, no chat, and no social features. Because the App offers optional in-app purchases, we recommend that parents and guardians supervise younger players and make use of Apple's parental controls (Family Sharing, Ask to Buy, and Screen Time) on devices used by minors.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently received personal data from a child, please contact us so we can address the issue promptly.

14. Data Security

Because all game data is stored locally on your device, your data benefits from the security protections built into iOS, including device passcode, Face ID, and Touch ID protections. We have no remote access to any of your data, and no data is transmitted to our servers. The App uses only standard iOS encryption and declares ITSAppUsesNonExemptEncryption = false.

15. International Users

Vivarium is operated by Banshee Technologies S.L., based in Spain (European Union). The App does not transmit personal data to servers in any jurisdiction; all data remains on your device. In-app purchase processing is handled by Apple and RevenueCat in accordance with their own privacy policies and applicable regional laws.

16. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, including when new gameplay features are introduced. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
