The Atlas

Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 18, 2026

Summary: You can explore The Atlas without an account, and then nothing about you leaves your device. If you sign in to own a planet or a star system, we keep only what that needs: the anonymous identifier Sign in with Apple gives us (never your name or email), the username you choose, the places you own with the names, notes and seals you give them, and a record of your purchases. Names, notes, seals and usernames are public by design. There are no ads, no analytics and no tracking.

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Banshee Technologies S.L. ("we", "us", or "our"), a company registered in Spain, handles information in connection with The Atlas ("the App"), available on the Apple App Store for iPhone, iPad and Mac, and with the owners registry and web pages that support it.

We are the data controller for the personal data described here. You can reach us at support@banshee.pro.

2. The App, and Owning a Place

The Atlas is an explorable universe generated on your device from a single seed: the same galaxies, stars and planets for everyone, in real time. Exploring it requires no account and sends nothing about you to us. The App is licensed to you under Apple's Standard End User License Agreement; this page adds what is specific to The Atlas.

Optionally, you can own a planet or a whole star system of The Atlas ("a place"). To create an account you must be at least 14 years old, or have the permission of a parent or guardian. While you own a place:

A place is not real-world property. It is a name, a note and a seal within The Atlas, a fictional, procedurally generated universe. It grants no title or right over any real celestial body, no ownership of the App, and has no value outside the App. It is not an investment, a financial product or a crypto-asset, and cannot be sold or transferred.

Purchases. Places are bought through Apple's in-app purchases, at the price shown in the App, once, with no subscription. Payment and refunds are handled by Apple under its terms. A place and its images are digital content delivered right after purchase: by completing a purchase you ask for that immediate delivery and acknowledge that, once the place is yours, the statutory right of withdrawal no longer applies, without affecting Apple's refund policies or your other rights as a consumer. If a purchase is refunded, its place is freed. If, exceptionally, a place is taken while you pay, your payment is kept as a credit for another place of the same kind.

We work to keep The Atlas and its registry available, but cannot guarantee it will always be. If we ever stop operating the owners registry, we will announce it in the App at least 90 days in advance.

3. Information We Collect

If you only explore, we collect nothing. If you sign in and own places, our registry keeps:

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, location, photos, advertising identifier (IDFA), browsing activity or any analytics.

Your session is kept in your device's Keychain so you stay signed in. The connection details any internet service sees (such as your IP address) are handled by our hosting provider, Cloudflare, for delivery and security; we do not store them in the registry.

4. What Is Public, and the Rules for It

The point of owning a place is that everyone sees it. The following are visible to every user of The Atlas, in the App, on the web explorer and on the page that a place's link or QR code opens (banshee.pro/atlas/p/…):

Do not include personal information (yours or anyone else's) in usernames, names or notes. Our filters refuse links, email addresses, phone numbers and social media handles.

What you write must not be illegal, sexual or pornographic, hateful or harassing, spam or advertising, point to piracy, or impersonate others or infringe their rights. You keep the rights to it, and let us store, show and reproduce it (in the App, on our web pages, on certificates and art prints) for as long as it is part of The Atlas. You are responsible for it.

Moderation. Anyone signed in can report a name or note from the App, or by writing to support@banshee.pro. We review reports and may hide or edit content that breaks these rules, block accounts from buying, editing and reporting, and, for serious or repeated breaches, take back the places involved, without refund except where the law requires one. Hidden content is shown to nobody but kept, in case it must be handed to the authorities.

5. Data Stored Only on Your Device

The App also keeps, on your device only: your settings (graphics quality, view options, sound), your saved Stargate places, where your ship is, and the photos, certificates and art prints you choose to save to your photo library. We have no access to them.

6. How We Use It, and Why

We do not sell your data, use it for advertising or profiling, or share it with advertisers.

7. Service Providers

a) Apple — Sign in with Apple identifies you to us without your name or email. Purchases are processed entirely by Apple's App Store. Apple's privacy policy: apple.com/legal/privacy.

b) RevenueCat — manages the App's in-app purchases and lets our registry check that a purchase is real. RevenueCat receives the purchase details from Apple's StoreKit and our random account identifier, nothing else about you. RevenueCat's privacy policy: revenuecat.com/privacy.

c) Cloudflare — hosts the owners registry (Cloudflare Workers and D1) and our web pages. Cloudflare processes the data in section 3 on our behalf. Cloudflare's privacy policy: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

These providers may process data outside the European Economic Area; where they do, they rely on safeguards recognised by the GDPR, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

Refund requests. If you ask Apple for a refund of an in-app purchase, Apple may ask us for information about that purchase to help it decide. By making in-app purchases, you consent to us sharing, through RevenueCat, limited information about the purchase with Apple, such as whether the place was delivered and our refund preference. No name, email address or other personal information is included. If a purchase is refunded, the place it paid for is freed.

8. Device Permissions

The App does not use the camera, microphone, location, contacts, calendar, health data or Bluetooth.

9. Advertising & Tracking

The App contains no advertising and no analytics, and does not track you across apps or websites. It does not access the IDFA.

10. Retention and Deleting Your Account

We keep your account and places for as long as you keep your account. You can delete your account at any time from the App (Your account → Delete account). Deleting it:

Purchase records are kept, no longer linked to you, for as long as accounting and tax law require.

11. Your Rights Under GDPR

As a company based in the European Union (Spain), we comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Spain's data protection law. You have the right to:

Write to support@banshee.pro from any address and tell us your username; we may ask you to confirm the request from the App so we know it is yours.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Spain, this is the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (AEPD) — www.aepd.es.

12. Children

Exploring The Atlas is suitable for everyone. To create an account and own places you must be at least 14 years old (the age of digital consent in Spain), or have the permission of a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly hold personal data of children under 14 without that permission; if you believe we do, contact us and we will delete it.

Because the App offers in-app purchases, we recommend that parents and guardians use Apple's Family Sharing, Ask to Buy and Screen Time.

13. Security

The registry only accepts requests from the App and checks every sign-in with Apple and every purchase with RevenueCat. Sessions are signed and expire. Data travels encrypted (HTTPS) and is stored with Cloudflare.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy, for example when The Atlas gains new features. Changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date; important changes will also be announced in the App.
